Seating depth test with non VLD bullets.

Postby trazman » Sat Apr 09, 2016 3:47 pm

We all know that VLD bullets are really sensitive to seating depth. What about standard BTHP bullets? Well I tried the following with the 69gr Nosler CC in my .223 Rem. The seating depth from left to right was 59,5mm 58,5mm and 57,5mm. I can not tell for sure for the middle group but the left group is bad compared to the right group... I always shoot this kind of tests in a round robin way...

Only rifle I have had trouble with was the 338lap Ackley improve it was so fussy about seating. Every other projectile I have loaded no issues at all. If it's a magazine feed round it will always be so it can be feed smoothly. It's just playing around with powder and primers till I work it out.
